AMD Threadripper 7000 CPUs have just been recorded within the PassMark benchmark, setting new performance records across all x86 chips.
AMD Threadripper 7000 CPUs Are Now The Champions of PassMark Benchmark Database, 7995WX Up To 63% Faster Than Predecessor
Each generation, AMD raises the multi-threaded performance bar with its Threadripper CPUs and this generation is no exception. Utilizing the power of the Zen 4 core architecture and faster clocks, the new lineup delivers an unprecedented increase in multi-threaded capabilities which decimate all other x86 chips.
Starting with the performance scores, we first have the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX CPU with 96 cores and a monumental score of 158,518 points, making it the fastest chip within the Pass Mark CPU database. The chip is followed by the second-best chip within the family, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7985WX which offers 64 cores and a score of 141,956 points, a 46% increase vs the Threadripper PRO 5995WX with the same amount of Zen 3 cores. The 7995WX takes things up a notch with a gargantuan 63% increase which is supplemented through the 50% extra cores over its predecessor.

Next up, we have the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7975WX CPU with 32 cores which ends up with a score of 100,760. That’s still ahead of the 5995WX and much faster than its predecessor, 5975WX. The Threadripper PRO 7965WX with 24 cores scores 84,785 points & the Threadripper PRO 7955WX scores 61,073, each offering a big uplift over their predecessors too. Lastly, the 7945WX scores the same as the Ryzen 9 7900X3D since both offer 12 cores and 24 threads.
Comparing the AMD Threadripper 7000 CPUs to their Threadripper 5000 predecessors, the uplift in performance is as listed below:

- 7995WX vs 5995WX = +63%
- 7985WX vs 5995WX = +46%
- 7975WX vs 5975WX = +33%
- 7965WX vs 5965WX = +28%
- 7955WX vs 5955WX = +22%
- 7945WX vs 5945WX = +25%
Once again, AMD has proven that they are the leader of the workstation and Pro segment with the release of their next-generation Threadripper 7000 CPUs. The CPUs are expected to hit retail next month on the 21st of November so stay tuned for more Threadripper action in the coming weeks.
