Gigabyte Deploys AI Inside AORUS C049DQ Ultra-Wide Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor To Minimize Burn-In Issues
At CES 2024, we will get to see a range of QD-OLED gaming monitors from various companies and it looks like Gigabyte has lifted the curtains off its upcoming design early on. The company unveiled its AORUS C049DQ which is a massive 49″ design featuring a curved panel and some hefty specs so let’s start with the details.
The AORUS C049DQ comes with a 49″ panel and is an ultra-wide curved design with an aspect ratio of 32:9. The panel itself deploys the latest QD-OLED technology and features a DQHD (5120×1440) resolution. The monitor has a 10-bit color depth and a response time of 0.03ms (grey-to-grey).
The gaming monitor is also DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified. In terms of refresh rate, you are looking at AMD Freesync Premium Pro support with a 144Hz refresh rate. The brightness is rated at 250cd/m2 while contrast is rated at 15000000:1. The panel uses edge backlighting while the surface is non-glare.
There are plenty of outputs on the AORUS C049DQ which include two HDMI 2.1, 1 DisplayPort 1.4, 1 USB Type-C (PD18W), 2 USB 3.0 (Downstream), and 1 USB 3.0 (Upstream) ports. There’s also an Earphone jack. The monitor houses two 5W speakers and comes with its unique features set that includes:
- OSD Sidekick
- Black Equalizer
- Dashboard
- Crosshair
- Timer
- Counter
- PiP/PbP
- Auto-Update
- KVM
- 6 axis Color Control
- Apply Picture Mode
- HDMI-CEC
Gigabyte & AORUS have also deployed their OLED care technology within the C049DQ monitor that utilizes AI-based algorithms to minimize the risk of burn-in issues. According to the manufacturer, the AI algorithm and presets run in the background with minimal interference when the screen is running and can also be customized by the users according to their preferences. This is a good thing that can protect your screen over the long run.
Besides that, the AORUS C049DQ gaming monitor weighs 11.28kg and measures 1194.78 x 558.80 x 261.52 mm (with a stand). It has a 72W AC power input and also supports VESA wall mounting. As for availability and pricing, there’s currently no word on either but with the competition heating up within the QD-OLED space, we are bound to get more information in the coming month.
