Here’s Our Hands On With NVIDIA’s Brand New GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition GPU & Several Custom Models

At CES 2024, we were able to get our first hands-on look at several NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPUs including the Founders Edition.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition Looks Gorgeous With Its Stealthy Black Aesthetics & So Do The Custom Models

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPUs are the talk of the town right now and we managed to get our first look at the flagship of this lineup, the RTX 4080 SUPER, in both Founders Edition and the custom variations.

The NVIDIA Founders Edition GPUs are a looker, with simplistic aesthetics that take a lot of engineering expertise to design and make. While the new Founders Edition coolers on the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series are very similar to the existing RTX 40 cards, they do have a unique touch that gives them a stealthy black look. The silver plate that encircles the card is now getting a darker tone and that further elevates the look of this beautiful piece of engineering.

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU is still the same triple-slot behemoth with the same dual-axial flow-through fan design which makes use of a massive heatsink with vapor chamber tech. It comes with SUPER badges, both on the front metallic plate and the backplate which makes it very easy to distinguish between the SUPER and Non-SUPER series. This card retails for $999 US and is the base price for the 4080 SUPER.

NVIDIA’s AIBs are also showcasing their own GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER graphics cards and we got to see several designs such as the ASUS TUF Gaming, MSI Ventus 3X, Colorful iGame Ultra, GALAX SG-1, Gainward Phantom, Gigabyte Windforce 3X, Palit JetStream, ZOTAC Trinity and Inno3D iChill 3X at NVIDIA’s booth. Each card offers its unique cooling system and features a 3 or 3+ slot design. Each card is also retrofitted with the brand new 12V-2×6 power connectors which can supply up to 600W of power but we know from our launch coverage that the card barely consumes 250W power during gaming.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU is going to spice things up at its $999 US price point, aiming the Radeon RX 7900 XTX with performance faster than the RTX 4080 and the world’s fastest G6X memory. The cards are expected to launch on 31st January so stay tuned as we bring you the latest on NVIDIA’s SUPER family.
