Intel is expected to launch its next-gen Arc Battlemage “Xe2” GPUs by the end of 2024 and close to Black Friday, reports Computerbase.
Intel Battlemage Whispers: Next-Gen Arc “Xe2” GPUs Launching Around Before Black Friday 2024
Although Intel has not announced or even teased the launch date or timeframe of its next-gen Arc lineup based on the Battlemage “Xe2” GPU architecture, it looks like there were some whispers of the next-gen lineup during Embedded World 2024. According to certain representatives & people on the show floor, Intel is targeting a release date of late 2024 and before Black Friday 2024 for its next-gen family. Black Friday 2024 is going to take place on 29th November so we can expect some sort of announcement or unveil in November followed by a retail launch in the months ahead.
If true, the release of the Intel Arc B-Series Battlemage “Xe2” GPUs will be almost two years after the release of the Arc A770 which launched at the end of October so a November release doesn’t seem out of place.
As for what we know about Intel Arc Battlemage “Xe2” discrete GPUs, there are two SKUs that have so far been confirmed which include the BMG-10 & BMG-21. The former is the higher-end SKU and the latter is the mid-range SKU. Both of these chips will be positioned in the Xe2-HPG lineup which represents the discrete GPU family but there is also the Lunar Lake which will host the Xe2-LPG iGPU featuring the same Battlemage graphics architecture. These chips are also expected to debut later this year.

Another feature we could see debut alongside Battlemage Xe2 gaming GPUs is Intel’s very own XeSS Frame Generation which is expected to utilize the Frame Extrapolation technique which is the complete opposite of Frame Interpolation used by NVIDIA’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR algorithms. Intel’s Tom Petersen has already teased cool new technologies and architectural fixes for Battlemage a while back.
Recently, the Intel Battlemage Xe2 GPUs have started showing up in benchmark databases and ES variants have also been spotted in shipping manifestos so it looks very likely that Intel is prepping for launch in the second half of 2024. We may even get our first teaser of Battlemage at Computex 2024 which is just a few weeks away now.
