Sapphire has unveiled its brand new Radeon RX 7900 GRE Pure GPU with white aesthetics and a solid overclock out of the box.
Sapphire’s White Radeon RX 7900 GRE Pure GPU Makes Debut In China
AMD’s “Golden Rabbit Edition” models have been a hit in China, especially the relatively lower-end Radeon RX 6750 GRE series. The popularity isn’t because of the “patriotic” factor, but somehow, the performance per dollar these models have brought to the Chinese markets is simply unbeatable, and despite being older offerings, they compete against the likes of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4060 & 4060 Ti GPUs, potentially surpassing some of them as well. Capitalizing on its popularity, Sapphire has released a new “Pure Edition OC” model of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE with an elegant design.
The Sapphire Pure Edition OC Radeon RX 7900 GRE GPU differs from the conventional variants available since it has bumped-up frequencies. For a quick rundown on specifications, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE features the RDNA3 architecture, coming with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory running across a 256-bit bus interface at a clock speed of 18 Gbps.
The Pure Edition model comes with a game clock of 1972MHz and a boost frequency of 2333MHz, which is 88 MHz higher than the stock models. Sapphire’s benchmarks have revealed that the Pure Edition model dominates NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 in synthetic tests.
In terms of design, the Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 GRE Pure Edition variant comes with a unique white design, adding to the small list of white models in this particular GPU lineup.
It has a triple-fan design, a robust cooling mechanism that ensures optimal thermal dissipation through its 5 nickel-plated heat pipes, and a “multi-folded” copper PCB design. This variant does come with an RGB option on the front of the GPU shroud, with the “Sapphire” logo lightened up, which complements the overall look.
Regarding the price, Sapphire’s Pure Edition OC RX 7900 GRE is retailing for 4879 yuan on the Chinese marketplace JD.com, which equates to US $683. Global availability isn’t yet confirmed, but we anticipate the variant will hit international retailers soon.
